How I Review These Calculators
I check three things on every calculator I review: that the formula matches the guideline it's built on, that the reference ranges are current rather than an older version doctors have moved past, and that the result is worded so it reads as a screening number, not a diagnosis. For the ones closest to my own practice — growth, height, water intake, calcium. I also check the values against what I'd actually expect to see walking through pediatric cases day to day. A pass from me means the tool is clinically sound and honestly labeled. It doesn't mean I've examined anyone individually, and it's never a substitute for a real visit with a doctor.
